On Sept. 19, Chemeketa employees, including President Julie Huckestein and Athletic Director and former Storm softball coach Cassie Belmodis, oversaw the grand opening of the Storm Athletic Complex as the home for the softball and women’s and men’s soccer teams.
A little update, the squirrel is doing great! Over a few short weeks, She has grown and started some new phases of a growing squirrel.
September 11th was the date in which Chemeketa officially opened the doors for their Chemeketa Cellars Wine Tasting Room. Chemeketa Employees and Industry partners were all specially invited to come between the hours of 5-7 pm to enjoy appetizers and wine.
September 12th, 2018 marked the date for the Employee Art Fair held inside the Gretchen Schuette Art Gallery, building 2, on Chemeketa’s Salem Campus.

Over the years, I’ve encountered new and exhilarating passions that I’ve never thought of myself doing. From the start of my college career, I’ve stepped out of my tortoise shell and expanded. Joining my school’s newspaper.
More and more, I am experiencing the new me. Furthering what I understand about what makes me who I am. The dream of success? It’s continuing to give me the drive to further myself along. Moving forward, I will, of course, fall into the depths of my own accord; though, I will stand right back up and continue where I’ve once dropped.
Today, we’ve encountered a squirrel that fell out of its home at Aldrich Park. Trying to get it back home, we’ve failed at it. So, instead of leaving it out to die, we then decided to bring it over to the wildlife refuge, so it can be taken care of properly before releasing back in the wild.
